Think WHEN<\/strong>
\nChoose a time when your friend is free to chat and not focussed on something else.<\/p>\n

Think WHERE<\/strong>
\nThink about where you hang out together. Walking to school, at each other\u2019s houses, online. It doesn\u2019t have to always be a chat in school.<\/p>\n

Think HOW<\/strong>
\nRemember, be friendly and confident, listen to what your friend has to say. Show some empathy, and don\u2019t be judgmental.<\/p>\n

Think TOPIC<\/strong>
\nMake it relevant! What would most interest your friend? Their health, the environment? Or another topic?<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

What good communication looks like\u2026<\/h4>\n

Make eye contact.<\/p>\n

Smile and nod when your friend is talking.<\/p>\n

Listen carefully without interrupting.<\/p>\n

Ask questions when they have spoken.<\/p>\n

Recognise when someone loses interest and either:
\n\u2013 Share a different fact.
\n\u2013 Change the subject completely

Looking at your phone and not making
