Aside from causing bad breath, smoking also seriously damages your teeth! It causes staining and gum disease that can lead to tooth loss.

Misconceptions

FALSE:  Smoking keeps you slim.

People who give up smoking may put on a little bit of weight. Whilst smoking does raise your metabolism slightly, weight gained will often reduce over time.

However, people who give up smoking often replace cigarettes with food and drinks which will contribute to weight gain. That said, it is better to be a few pounds heavier and not smoke.
